I Remember Where I was when....

the twin towers were attacked. It was like my 3rd day of kindergarten and my first day riding the bus. As I got on, I heard the bus driver talking to the ed tech on the bus about somebody attacking something. That was all I heard. Once I arrived at my house and got off the bus, my mom was waiting outside for me with my sister Hayley. She looked a little upset. But we went on with a normal afternoon routine, get a snack, outside time and then homework; if we had any!

I later found out when I was older, about the twin towers. My mom was very worried because my dad was on a plane coming home from Washington DC. He had been delayed though and not been bothered. This was a very sad time and it affected many people.

  1. It is interesting to hear your perception of September 11th. I know this is the biggest national tragedy that your generation and mine have ever experienced. Our parents and grandparents remember many events where it felt like the whole world had stopped and everyone was in mourning. Just wondering what made you post this? Did something happen in the book you were reading that made you think of it?

And... it might be interesting to ask other people what they remember about that day...
